3 steps to beautiful, healthy skin!


 I love makeup! Love, love, love it!!! However, makeup works best when there is a healthy canvas with which to start. If you don’t love makeup like I do, it is still important to take care of your face and maybe even more so.

   STEP 1: CLEANSE!!! 

Find a great cleanser that works well with your skin type. I have tried many different cleansers over the years. Many dried my face out too badly, some left my face too oily, and some caused allergic reactions (breakouts, excema, etc.). The one I finally settled on is Bare Minerals Pure Plush Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam. It shouldn’t be any surprise that this turned out to be my favorite since their makeup is also my favorite. This leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh.


In this step it is also extremely important to choose a moisturizer for your skin type. My skin like I said before is very dry, so I need a moisturizer that will give me tons of moisture to prevent dry patches from forming on my face. When dry patches form then my foundation accentuates those areas. I have used many different brands and types of moisturizers, but I finally landed on Bare Minerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream. I only use this at night because it is so moisturizing that it is too oily to put under makeup. The makeup almost slides right off. As a result, I only use this at night, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that is all I need. This moisturizer is so amazing and I highly, highly recommend it. In just two weeks all of my dry patches are completely gone. I don’t think it is just resulting from this moisturizer, but it is definitely a huge step. Step #3 takes care of all the stubborn dry patches that this step doesn’t get rid of. Even if you have oily skin, do not skip this step. It will keep your skin from over producing oil to compensate for the dryness right after cleansing.


While not a daily step, this is also important. It helps get rid of dead skin cells which is essential especially for dry skin, but for any skin type. Because I use the bare minerals cleanser, I also use their skin polishing grains that are added to the cleanser in order to exfoliate. This step only needs to be done 1-2 times a week. In the winter, I do this 3 times a week.

  I have been using these products together for a couple of months and after years of struggling with unhealthy, dry, flaky skin I finally have the skin I have always wanted. I have just recently begun getting compliments from others on how bright and healthy my face looks. I am so excited to finally have a great skincare routine that I feel comfortable recommending to other people.

 I do understand that there are many different skin types out there. There is no one size fits all treatment and nothing that is going to cure all of your skin problems over night. However, no matter your skin type find something that gives you that radiant, healthy glow that you have always wanted.
